Copying/Renaming and Editing song files

Post by Tunemaker »

Hi all I have come up against a small issue and was wondering if anyone has a workaround. ( still using V 6.3 )
What I am doing is Recording Band Rehearsals ( 16 Tracks )
The tracks are between 1 and 5 hours long
I would like to create song files for each of the songs on the track worth mixing down and saving a song file for each song then editing each song file in multitrack editor deleting ( using insert ) the tracks before and after the song in quiestion then mixing each song individually. I hope i am making sense. I tried making a copy of the song file then renaming it but when I edit it it also edits the original. I have over 40 jams average of 3 hrs each to go threw and am looking for a quick way lol

Thanks
Rob

You can do it like this:

- select a part in the Song Editor and click Copy
- create a new song with the same number of audio/MIDI tracks. You can click Song --> New, and then use the "Identical to current" template to do this quickly.
- go to the Song Editor and click Paste
