Shootout between Saz and Amplitube

Post by sinbad »

As promised here is a shootout between Saz's Multi Effect preset and Amplitube.
Amplitube uses an Orange OR120 amp with a PPC412 Cabinet and a bit of reverb and compression.
Saz uses Giel's Amp and some free stuff as seen in the "MTS 8.2 Thanks Giel" thread.

There are a lot of differences between the two, the main ones being that Amplitube is softer and almost parlour like whereas Saz's has a raw live vibe to it.
There is more string noise on Saz's but that is to be expected, but there is also a lot more definition and detail. It certainly shows where my playing needs improvement.
Thanks Saz for the insight, and thanks Giel for the tools.

If anybody else has a signal path setup they would like to share please post them. Free plugins are alway appreciated.

Cool comparison, sinbad.

And yeah, Hi Gain will "highlight" string noise, shielding problems, etc. Sometimes, I'll use another noise gate(actual Boss NS-2) to help out.

Try turning the "Gain" in the Booster section of the MTS Guitar Amp down to 1 to 2 or even bypassing one of the Tubescreamer plugins for a lower gain/noise sound.

It's worth mentioning - the Volume(and Tone) knobs on the guitar can play a huge role in sound tweaking. Sometimes that is easy to forget in the heat of the moment - at least for me. :)
