Audio Units

Post by CyrillPhilippoff »

Blamsoft released a new audio unit:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/resampler/id1069168353

It is called Resampler.
"Resampler is a creativity inducing bit crusher packed with audio algorithms stretched past their limits."
If you go to their website http://blamsoft.com/audio-units/ , you can see another preparing to release audio unit - "DC-9 Overdrive". Is based on TS9 Tube Screamer. And together with the latest update MtS Guitar Amp it can be very interesting. :D

Blamsoft released a F-16 Filter

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/f-16-fi ... 02761?mt=8

"F-16 Filter is a flexible multi-mode filter with frequency response display." And unfortunately there is still no DC-9 Overdrive.

KQ MiniSynth By Ryouta Kira added AU support

https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/kq-mini ... ?l=en&mt=8

KQ MiniSynth - is a polyphonic modular synthesizer. For me, it's really cool, because I always wanted a modular synths (like SunVox) in MtS. I need more time to work with him, but MtS + modular synth is very, VERY promising.

Another AU synth - "NS1 – Virtual Analog Synth Audio Unit"

https://itunes.apple.com/app/ns1-virtua ... mpt=uo%3D4

Unfortunately cant say anything about it.

NS1 is quite good, deceptively simple looking GUI with plenty of range and power underneath. Preset selection isn't available, the 2 UIs (MTS, NS1) put together don't accommodate the window. (So you'll have to "roll your own", which is a good thing in my case...)

Another synth in AU format, Viking by Blamsoft https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1085274012?mt=8

A port of their reason rack Viking, a very nice iOS synth

Shares a gui issue with NS1: MTS as a host for these synths AU GUIs does not include preset support- the preset selection windows are outside the AU GUI MTS provides...Garage Band and AUM have AU interfaces that are sized to accommodate the extra space needed for preset selection.

Well, it's not a GUI issue: MTS for iPad simply doesn't support AU presets yet. When AU support was introduced I suspected the presets code wouldn't work correctly, and since there were no AU plugins to test this I left out preset support. Then plugins appeared, and I found the preset code didn't work OK indeed. Coincidentally I fixed it yesterday, so it will be in the next release.
