How to set up my External midi to MTS studio

Post by Mborders39 »

I would be so grateful if someone could help me out.

I have midi out/in cables connected to my DSI Prophet 08 analog synth and into the midi out/in cables of the PreSonus Audiobox itwo.

My iPad Pro is connected also into the PreSonus. The sound from the iPad is coming through my studio speakers fine.

I really want to use the MTS Studio app because it is the only iPad app I could find that would let me edit using a piano roll.

The global options on the prophet concerning midi are as follows:

Midi channel: all/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9
Polychain: off/out 4/out 8/in

Clock: internal/midi out/midi in/midi in & out/
Local control: on/off

Mparam send: NRPN/CC/off
M parham rec: all/ NRPN/CC/off

Midi program: on/off
Midi pressure: on/off

Midi control: on/off
Midi sys ex: on/off

I have been so far unable to hear my synth on the app.

Am I being too unrealistic by thinking I can utilize this synth as a midi on an iPad?

Thank you for your time. If this is the incorrect forum to ask this specific question, and anyone has an idea of who I should go to for help, I'd appreciate it.

In MTS you need to go to the Studio menu's Devices pane and select the synth in the MIDI Input Device and MIDI Output Device boxes.

And in your MIDI track you need to tap the 'instrument slot' for a second, so a selector menu pops up. Then pick the 'External' option.
