Combine2 or 3 ADATs into one multichannel converter

Like many of the ADAT owners I know, I only use the units for AD\DA converters. Lugging three of these horses around can get pretty tiring. I have been thinking (

I am in trouble now), it shouldn't be a problem to rewire 2 or even 3 in one 3U case.

What I was wondering if anyone else has done this or if I have to start from scratch.

Let me know your thoughts on the subject.
