Preset files question (What does the ID Syntax mean?)

Howdy.

I was looking to rename some saved presets to do a bit of housekeeping.
I have noticed that there is some pretty long letter/number combination added to the name.

Is that some kind of ID? Can I safely rename the presets without "breaking" some link to them?

Thanks in advance,

tL.

It's the unique ID of a VST/AU plugin.

Probably. Note that you can rename a preset in MultitrackStudio if you rightclick it.
