MTS 4.31
MTS 4.31
Thanks for the update Giel. I won't be able to try it for a while because I'm moving house at the moment, but I'm looking forward to see if this new version gets along better with jamstix on my system. Unfortunately I'm getting crashes now and again, for no apparent reason.
I'm using XP, and have been completely happy with things till jamstix. I must admit, that I tend to forget to switch off things like WIFI and virus progs, skype, well, the works. Other progs don't seem to mind, but I guess jamstix does. I'm trying to remix old projects and lay down a drum groove at the same time so I'm running on the limit of my capabilities anyway. If I stopped all the junk which is running at the same time it will probably help. I'm open for any new ideas though.
I'll try to find one of those lists of Windows Services that can be disabled or set to "manual". Doing that can help for audio computers. I'll try to find that.
In the meantime, read this page and try out these things.

Of course stopping the stuff you mentioned would help too.

OK, here's some stuff that might help too. I'm still looking for the other stuff.

Here's the main site I was thinking of. It looks like ya have to register, but the tips are there I think: http://www.musicxp.net/
Yep the tips are there and the services to set to "disabled" or set to "manual" are listed here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm
That last link is a good one.
