Shelf

Shelf

Mixer sections, Effects and Synths are stored on the Shelf. The Shelf appears upon moving the mouse to the bar on the left side of the MultitrackStudio window. It disappears automatically when the mouse leaves the Shelf area. Clicking one of the corner "screw holes" prevents the Shelf from disappearing.

Mixer sections, Effect and Synths can be dragged from the Shelf to the place where you want to use them. If you want to remove them you can drag them back to the Shelf (to the Garbage Bin, or to the place where they belong).

Markers / Labels

Markers can be dragged to the Overview Bar.

Labels can be dragged to Mixer sections (eg. you can stick a 'Reverb' label to an Effect Return section).

A name can by typed immediately after dropping a Marker or Label.

MIDI Notes

MIDI Notes can be dragged to the Pianoroll, Notation or Drum editors.

Presets

Mixer section presets can be created by dragging a mixer section to the Mixer Preset section. In the case of Track presets an empty copy of the Track's audio or MIDI file will be included in the preset. When the preset is used a new copy of the audio/MIDI file will be created.

Effect and Synth presets can be created by dragging the Effect or Synth Slot to the Effect Presets or Synth Presets section of the Shelf. A preset will be created named after the Effect or Synth. To use a preset you can drag it to a slot just like you can drag standard Effects.

If you drag a Mixer Section to the Effect Presets section an effect preset will be created which contains a Multi Effect containing all the mixer section's effects. If you drag a Track to the Synth Presets section a synth preset will be created which contains both the track's synth and the track's effects. When the preset is dropped on a Synth Slot the effects will be loaded in the track's Effect Slots.

Presets can be renamed by left-clicking them. After typing a new name press Enter to accept or Esc to cancel.

Presets can be removed by dragging them to the Garbage Bin.

Audio / MIDI Clips

Pieces of audio or MIDI can be dragged from Track editors to this section and back. Clips can be removed by dragging them to the Garbage Bin.

Recent Performances

After a Softsynth has been played 'live' without actually recording it, the performance is saved here. It can be dragged to a Track editor in order to be used. Alternatively, it can be dragged to the Audio / MIDI Clips section. Old performances will be deleted automatically so there aren't more than three of them. Performances can be removed manually by dragging them to the Garbage Bin.
