Can't get Multitrack studio to record/play

Hi,
I have a windows 8 64 bit operating system and I have installed multitrack studio. The only thing that I can hear when I go to play my midi keyboard through it is the click track. I can not record/hear anything using the software. I have an Akai MPK mini midi keyboard.

I plug it into my computer and nothing registers on the multitrack studio. It detects the keyboard but doesn't receive any signal from it. I went through all the preference settings and midi settings and still nothing.

What am I doing wrong? I saw some videos for using Multi-track on you tube but it was for the iPad.

I use the driver for windows and have gone through every setting on the software but there are no specific instructions for my problems, Have searched the forum but can not find anything to answer my question.
