I currently record thru an m-audio sound card with two mono channels in. If I add an outboard usb device with another two channels audio in, can I use them both at the same time to record 4 channels in at the same time?
Will I probably have difficulty syncing the 1st 3 inputs with the second two, due to different latencies?
Need answer before i waste my money...
thanks
Support: use two different 2 channel audio devices?
Re: Support: use two different 2 channel audio devices?
If you're using Windows the answer is no: you can use only one audio device at a time. You'd have to buy a four channel device.
On a Mac you can create an 'aggregate device', which MultitrackStudio can use.
You'd need MultitrackStudio Pro, lower editions support two-channel recording only.

Thanks for the info, you saved me a lot of time I would have wasted trying to add another 2 channel audio device. I have already upgraded to the Pro version, so now I will have to buy a four channel input device. ANY suggestions which one?
