playback loop makers

Post by iLove80's »

Hey All,
I've been using MTS Pro for live gigs for years now and NEVER had an issue I'm running a MAC mini and I love the flexibility MTS provides as far as calling up song using the midi functions through the remote section. Nothing out there except Ableton or Stagetracker)

I'd like some idea on how to implement a play loop back using set markers in a song i.e [Start, Verse1, Chorus, Verse2, Chorus ... , LoopAbout, Outro, End] to continually loop a section of a song here, LoopAbout kind of audience participation section.

Is there some way to activate at the first marker of the LoopAbout using midi command to set a loop going once the transport advances into the loop (between the first and second markers (LoopAbout, Outro) then once we want to move to the outro, receiving a midi command to allow the transport to advanced across the second marker continuing the song till the end.

I understand record does allow looping using click-and-drag and thumb but needs to set via mouse double click. Remote only allow looping once these are set. Start cycling, only works if valid cycle start/end points have been set.
I'd like if there where two types of markers once be direct to marker the new type Loop marker which is saved per song. An add the alibility through remote midi commands to set and reset these loop Markers. Would be a fantastic live option.

I've seen this in the remote section:-

•Cycle: toggle cycle on/off. Start will do Start Cycling instead if Cycle is on.
•Set Cycle Start: set start of cycle region (uses the current transport position).
•Set Cycle End: set end of cycle region (uses the current transport position).

Not sure if this address my wishes.

Maybe Giel Bremmers, could include something like a Loop Marker option like this to allow 'Planned' looping during playback.?
Anyone out there done this or have an idea on how this could be done?

Cheers

I can see the usefulness in bookmarked loops. If I'm reading you correctly.

It's the kind of fringe use I support implementing, but not burdening the developer. How? By giving us a basic API for scripting.

API would be nice feature.
The ability to set a repeat loop going between markers would make me day possibly year. I understand most users use MTS to record in the studio. I use MTS as my live player as there is hardly any thing out there with the feature MTS provides. Its rock solid and reliable. I'd be happy to throw $$ if it could be implemented and controlled through my Korg nanaoKontrol2.
