Midi Editors

Post by mof »

What programs do you guys use to edit your midi files? Or do you try to avoid that? Your input would be appreciated.

I have only edited midi files within MT Studio by using the edit window. So far I have not found the need to edit midi files with different program other than MT Studio.

I used to use Cubasis and that was adequate for editing midi now I use MTS which is not quite as good as Cubasis but it just about does the job.

Was there something about MTS midi editing that you find restrictive or you think needs improving?

There isn't anything particular that I have tried, but I have noticed that Pro Tools offers Velocity editing even though that is very confusing, as well as the pen tool for drawing enevelopes for controllers etc.

But I lack experience in this area so I'm not sure what is really used. My suspicion is that except for percussion midi editing isn't much used.

Cakewalk, Cakewalk, or Cakewalk. On occasion, I use Cakewalk also.
