Edit Instrument Names In Patch Editor

Post by jimjr »

I have some drum patches that I have made.
I want to know how to set the instrument names for each sample in the patch, e.g. HiHat, Ride, Kick, Snare, etc so that the show up in the drum editor like shown here:

When I open my patches the instrument names are just the corresponding note names like shown here:

I tried changing the note names in the patch editor but it doesn't seem to work:

Is there a way to set the instrument names for patches so it can be used in the drum editor?

The sample file names will be used as note names if you engage 'Discard Note-Off' (in the sample editor). You should use that option for drums.

That said: in MultitrackStudio 9 you can click the Sampler's "hamburger" icon and choose 'Note Names'. You can override the note names there.

Thank you. That works very well using 'Discard Note-Off' selected.
In this case will the note continue until it has played the entire sample?
