Using Vst or AU computing power.

Post by uncle808us »

I am curious. Does it take a lot more cpu to run Vsti or Aui's as compared to MTS's instruments?
Does it put a lot of strain on the computer? Lets say for a 2 minute song. running two instances of guitar AU's and one Drum Au.

MacBook Pro's ( Mid 2012 and 2009)
OSX El Capitan Ver 10.11.6

Depends on the VST or AU.
From my experience, I have used 20 VSTi at the same time, and I get frequently buffer runout after playing song for 30 sec's.
MTSi is lightweight in terms of CPU and RAM usage.
Professional sound processing requires serious CPU power.
