Key combinations doesn't work in Pianoroll if Cont is open

Hey there,

I'm pretty sure, my subject is self explanatory :)

But long story short, if you're editing a lot of MIDI (it doesn't matter if you're using Pianoroll, Score or Drum view) and using STRG+X, STRG+C, STRG+V for cutting, copying and pasting everything works fine as long as the controller tab is closed. As soon as you open controller view, you cannot use the hotkeys for copying, cutting or pasting in the MIDI roll. Even, if the track or notes are selected or the transport is placed within the midi region of a track. This also applies to the controller region which cannot use key combinations.

Is this intented to be like this, or is this just a bug?
MST Version 9.7.2

Thank you and all the best for the new year 2021,
Renatus

It's intended to work this way. And I hate it too! :lol:

If the controller editor is open there are two editors and there's no way to switch keyboard focus to just one of them. This conflict is 'solved' by disabling the keyboard shortcuts.

Hey Giel,

Thank you for your prompt answer :)
So, you're hating it too? :D
Maybe just enable the keyboard shortcuts always in the upper midi/score/drum editor and never in the controller editor - no matter it's opened or not? May this be a possible solution? :)

MultitrackStudio 10.1 released => Releasenotes:
Pianoroll/Score/Drum editors: keyboard shortcuts now always work, even if the track's controller editor is visible.
Thanks Giel! :)
