Recording from Real Guitar to another midi track

Post by uncle808us »

I am using MTS Ver 10.2 on a Mac OSX 10.11
This is beyond what I understand.
Hi I have been trying to figure this out for a long time with no success.
I set up RLPC VST2 in MTS instrument track. It has a setting for sending midi out. you can pick the channel default is Ch-1.
I set up another midi instrument track.MTS instrument Piano
How do I get the 2nd midi instrument track (Piano) to record what is coming from the VST instrument track? RLPC has a choice of AU VST-2 and VST3.
It has two VST choices VST2 VST3. I chose VST-2
I certainly hope there is a way to do this.
Thank you Here is what I got from The creators of Real Les Paul Custom Virtual instrument.
Reply from Musiclab:
Here you can find the instructions

Note, that some DAWs don't support MIDI out from virtual instrument (e.g. Logic).
Thanks Bob

I think you can use the plugin as a MIDI effect. No need to use two tracks.

I read this before there is a major problem:
The info in the link you sent:
The data that appears in the track editor is sent to the MIDI effect. The MIDI effect processes the data and sends it to the MIDI instrument. A recording track records the data coming from your MIDI keyboard (ie. the MIDI effect isn't in the recording).

A MIDI effect's 'hamburger' menu features an Apply to track option. This option applies the effect to the track, and engages the effect's Bypass button.
There is no hamburger menu with that choice. It's playing the plug in but not recording it to the track.

This is an instrument slot, not a MIDI effect slot. Please see the manual page again and add a MIDI effect slot. Then load the plugin in this slot.

Thank you very much I finally got it.
Sometimes my ignorance is over whelming.
This works great.
Reaper has a Problem with this. Logic impossible!
MultiTrack Studio handles it with ease.
Good work Giel.
and Thank you for your patience.
