Is there an easy way to do this within MTS? I used a Tascam DR-40 to record two pairs of stereo tracks (the built-in condenser pair, plus another stereo track via the external mic inputs). For mixdown, I need to deal with each recording source separately (particularly the tracks from the external mics).
If I can't do it in MTS, I guess I can separate them in Audacity first. I get that I can do hard panning left and right, then render mono tracks and re-import...so far, it seems faster to do in Audacity than MTS.
Split stereo tracks to mono
Re: Split stereo tracks to mono
You can do this in real time:
- load your file in a track
- add two mono audio tracks
- switch their inputs to "Master Out Left" and "Master Out Right"
- engage their Rec buttons
- start transport and stop it at the end of the file
