Quintuplets & Septuplets

Post by stubbsonic »

As I've mentioned in another thread, I would like to have a few more quantize options. But I'm trying to narrow it down from my original request. I've been exploring quintuplets quite a bit over the last year or so. Listening to Anika Nilles and it is starting to sink in!! Been practicing them, too. I get them pretty close with realtime recording, but would like to quantize them (partly for learning and teaching purposes).

10 notes per beat (5 per 8th)
5 notes per quarter (1 beat)
5 notes per dotted quarter (for 6/8, 9/8, 12/8)
5 notes per half-note (2 beats)
5 notes per dotted half (3 beats)
5 notes per whole (4 beats)

And the same basic plan for septuplets (7 notes per beat, etc.)

I'm pretty comfortable playing in odd meters like 5/8, 7/8, 11/8, etc. which involves "groupings" of beats. But where I am working right now is to feel beats divided in 5's and 7's. So I'm switching between dividing beats in different ways. But 5 & 7 are trickiest because they are less familiar.

Just putting the bug in your ear one more time.

Thanks for v2.1.1. It was cool to see you added bluetooth because of that person's request.

That never hurts ;-)

The request is still on the list. I'll add this simplified version to it.
