Multi-track pattern arrangement

Post by MisplacedDevelopment »

One powerful feature I didn't find until today is that it is possible to duplicate a subset of a vertical stack of patterns without overwriting tracks you want to leave as they are. You can do this on the iPad by opening just the tracks you want to copy the patterns for and then using the "Multi MIDI Editor->MIDI tracks with open editor" option. Now if you copy the bar(s) where the stack of pattern data lives and paste it elsewhere you will see that the whole stack of patterns has been duplicated and (importantly) any notes in tracks you did not have open have not been overwritten. These patterns are properly linked as well rather than being clones, so editing any of them also updates the others.

To copy patterns and other data from *all* tracks in a vertical stack you can use the Song Editor. If you have desktop MTS then that also has the Multitrack Editor view which lets you selectively copy tracks like the Multi MIDI Editor but also lets you include audio.
