IPad mic horrible noise

Post by uncle808us »

I am attempting to use iPad 4th gen ios15.4 on board mic to record a vocal but when Mon is on I get a horrible noise on the audio track.
How do I upload the zipped song file? So you can hear the problem?
I will attempt an email to Giel.

I think that's because the song has a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. On newer iPads the built-in mic only works right at 48 kHz.

Please try this to verify this:
- go to Studio-->Preferences and set "New song samplerate" to 48000 Hz
- do Song --> New Song
- now add an audio track and try recording the built-in mic

Does it sound OK now?

That was the first thing I checked.
I emailed the file to support.

Perhaps the Audio Latency setting in Studio-->Devices is too low. If that doesn't help you can try rebooting the device.

It seems that placing the latency on med helps. I will report when I am in a position where I can record.

OK latency at med works. Thanks.
Sorry for the late return but the weather has been to nice to be in a studio.
