Pattern edit oddity

Post by MisplacedDevelopment »

If I want to change the contents of a pattern then what I typically do is edit what is on the main piano roll (so that I can use the multi-midi editor and see the change in context), copy the new state of the MIDI, delete what is in the pattern, then paste in the modified MIDI from the piano roll. The odd behaviour I see is that if as part of my editing I remove a note in the main piano roll, then it reappears when I paste back in to the pattern. Simple recreate:

1. Add a note to the main piano roll
2. Select the bar and create a pattern
3. Add a second note to the main piano roll and delete the original one
4. Drag to select the bar (not lasso) and copy the bar containing just the new note
5. Open the pattern editor and delete everything
6. Paste from the clipboard
7. Note that two notes are copied - both the note from the original pattern, plus the new note

I can work around this by doing Import->Paste instead of using Paste.

Thanks for the detailed steps. I can reproduce that.
