Trigering MIDI notes

Post by Raen » Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:07 am

Hello!

Is it possible to turn off triggering the midi notes if you select them in edit window? Selecting multiple notes at one time is quite "noisy" ...

Thanks

The Studio --> Preferences window has a "Scrubber on track editors" option. That affects selecting in 'Select Part" mode, but it doesn't affect lassoing notes in "Select Notes" mode.

Thanks for the answer! But is such an option is planned to add in the future?

Such an option was actually removed a couple of years ago...

I'll consider letting note lassoing obey the "Scrubber on track editors" setting.

Strange that no one has missed it.

My ears hurted couple of times because of "noise" when selecting notes. :)

It's not a big deal though, it has more pros the cons.

What happens exactly? I hear nothing really bad using the MultitrackStudio Instruments for example. Perhaps the output clips with certain VSTi plugins? Or is it just a bit louder than you'd prefer?

For example, when I select all snare drums ( for velocity editing, example ), then the sound on the studio monitors is really too loud and I have to adjust it every time. It would be best to have this function as a separate key combination. At least for my work style, I would constantly turn it on and off

I think I found workaround for this problem.

When you come close to selecting notes, just don't go right, but instead let go left mouse button.
It's not 100% perfect, but it works.

The editor sounds don't go through the Master section. So they'll be relatively loud if the master fader is moved to the left quite a bit, and the track faders are to the right to compensate. In other words, you can make the editor sounds a bit softer by moving the master fader a bit to the right, and the track faders a bit to the left.
