Visually lining up tracks in MTS

Post by LeftyChris »

This is probably a fairly common beginner’s question about MTS. I am wondering, is it possible to visually line up tracks in MTS so that all tracks are visible? I am enjoying the software but I am accustomed to other DAWs that provide an overall view of the various MIDI tracks at once (with or without separate MIDI regions) and which show how they are lined up.

From what I can tell, it doesn’t seem that there is any way to get such an overall view in MTS, but I am curious if there are any alternatives. Is the Multi MIDI Editor the closest I will get to such an overall view?

The Song Editor shows all tracks. It provides a nice overview, but you can't edit individual tracks there.

You can find pictures of the Multi MIDI Editor here: https://multitrackstudio.com/ipad_extensionpack.php

Thank you, Giel. Is there a way to have MIDI displayed in the Song Editor? When I open the Song Editor, I am only able to see audio (but the song is all MIDI). Even if I cannot edit there in the Song Editor, it would still be nice to be able to see all the MIDI tracks there anyway.

The Multi MIDI Editor is a great feature and I really like it. But I would also like to see all the MIDI tracks separately too. Is that possible in the Song Editor?

The song editor displays the MIDI tracks as if they were audio. I don't think there'd be enough room for something like per-track pianorolls.

I see your point. Maybe it would work on iPads with the larger screen size, though probably not on smaller iPads. I suppose it would also depend on how many tracks someone has in a project.
