When I add tempo changes, my markers get messed up (i.e. no longer in the right places). Perhaps MTS is storing them as absolute timings, rather than relative to bar numbers. Would it be possible to fix markers to bar numbers?

It works the way you want if you check the AUDIO check box near the bottom right corner of the tempo editor,
This makes sense if there actually are audio tracks, but perhaps it should update the markers if there are no audio tracks regardless. Will look into that. EDIT: it actually already does this...

Another couple of suggestions (sorry Giel!)

1. When adding automation, it's useful to be able to view the automation curve of one track when editing another. For example, two instrumental parts may "take turns" in the mix via volume automation. Would it be possible to leave another Automation Editor window open, while working in a second one ?

2. Articulations of a VST instrument - in particular program changes - seem to work only while the VST instrument window is open. This seems to preclude audio mix down in the normal way, since confirming the mix down settings closes the VST window. Could this be fixed? There is the Realtime Mixdown option, I know.

I don't see this. Which plugin(s) do you use? Is it VST3 or VST2? Windows or Mac?

I noticed it when using Tone2 Icarus, loaded as a VST2. I'm using the Windows version.

Hello,

sorry for my bad english, I wish for next Update the TEXT-Editor accept Cariage Return, Enjambment and ---- Symbols by no Text.

An UNDO and REDO Funktion for general Funktions (Clear Track, Tempo change etc.) could be nice.

If I EXPORT a Marked Midi-Sequez, it will done in Format 1, a request for Format (0,1) will be fine.
Or in Prefences general Format Export 1 or 0.

Many Thanks

Greetings

Geil, still enjoying your great work on MTS after many years.
Wish list:

Can I make another request for a toggle that does "click track in record mode only", so that on playback the click is not there. It helps with listening back to the take. This is a nice feature that Garage Band had.

Overview Bar and Markers.
I need to explain how I use the Markers feature, which is great and I use it a LOT, so that my request makes sense.
In the early stages of composition, I use a lot of Markers as both jump-to links and also to visually lay out the whole piece of music on the Overview Bar. My pieces can be quite long (more than 10 minutes) with many sections, like a symphony. This means that Markers get congested on the Overview Bar, so that they become a bit useless until I can mamage to delete some.

I did think to request that the Overview Bar could be zoomed, but I think there is a better way.

Am I right in thinking that Markers are stored as an absolute time position? This has a problem that other users have noted: If you move a single track or even a multitrack or song edit, the Marker stays in its original location. If I add two bars to the middle 8, for example, then I have to move EVERY MARKER after that to correct them.

Another Marker feature I have found myself wanting is to label WITHIN A TRACK. For example, I might improvise for three minutes, repeating and altering figures. It would be great to lable small sections within the Track as "use this version of figure 1".

This leads me to my actual feature-wish. Could Markers be attached to points in a Track. Then could they show up in the Edit window of that Track where the bar numbers show. And that the Marker moves with any track edits. Could they have a toggle in the channel strip of "show this track's Markers on the Overview Bar" so that they can be switched on and off. Could the Marker take the colour of the track and put that on the Overview Bar so that I can find which track is creating this Marker more easiy and delete it etc.

I appreciate that this change would need a solution for Songs created in older versions of MTS where the Marker is NOT tied to a track. Perhaps it would work if Markers could be added to both the Overview Bar AND to individual tracks.

And possibly related.
Is there a function that I have not found where I can perform a track edit to move the piece earlier or later AND the automation for that track moves with it to the new location? Could a CMD or CTRL while cut and paste work here?

Clip shelf
I don't find I use this much because I have trouble identifying the clips that I have on the shelf, even after I give them a descriptive name. Could there be a Preview function to listen to a clip on the Clip Shelf. Currently, to remind myself what "Harp twiddly bit number 4" is, I have to make space for it in the Track and bring it in, only to find that I wanted a different clip.

I'm happy to make another donation to MTS to contribute to your on-going work.
Yours, Aye, Scot

There's a "Mute click track during playback" option in the Studio-->Preferences window :-). This was added in version 10.8.

The Song Editor and the Tempo Editor do update the markers. They're the only editors that affect 'everything'.
The current markers are global, not per-track. It would be unexpected if the markers would move if you edit a single track I think?

I'll look into your marker ideas.

There isn't, and it's a good idea.
FTR: the Song Editor and the Tempo Editor do update automation.

A preview function for the clip shelf is on the todo list. For quite a while already, to be honest ;-)
