Add Audio track

Post by rsrockinron »

When adding an audio track, the box opens with name, type, channels, quality, number of tracks. I understand all of that except for Quality. 16 bit - 24 bit - 32 bit - 32 bit float. What's that about. Can anyone explain or tell me where I can find out more info on this. Don't seem to find anything in manual

It's the audio resolution. You'd typically want it to be equal to the bit depth if your audio device, so you capture the best quality the device can provide, without wasting diskspace for no gain.

In short: if your audio device is 24 bits, you'd want to use a 24 bits file, if it's just 16 bits you can use 16 bits files.
