Ducking reverb in MultitrackStudio Pro Plus

Sometimes you want to add a lot of reverb to a vocal track to get a particular sound. The problem is that the mix can get muddy easily and intelligibility suffers, especially if the reverb time is long.

The situation can be improved using "ducking reverb". The reverb is attenuated while the singer sings, and comes up as soon as he/she stops.

Ducking reverb can be set up easily in MultitrackStudio Pro Plus:
- Load a Reverb effect in an Effect Return section.
- Turn up the vocal track's corresponding effect send knob.
- Load a Compressor effect after the Reverb (in the Effect Return section). It's important to have the Compressor after the Reverb (ie. the Compressor is on the right).
- Switch the Compressor to the Clean program, so the side chain section appears. Select "Effect Send 1" as sidechain input (assuming you're using Effect Return 1).

That's it! Now the Compressor's Treshold knob can be used to set the amount of attenuation. The Release knob controls the time it takes for the reverb to come up in silent parts.

I can't wait to try that out as a dramatic effect. Thanks
