Thanks very much. I had a long period where I was making some mediocre songs but recently the song-making has been going pretty well. The more I get used to new tricks with the program, the easier it gets.

One thing that has speeded up the process is figuring out which speakers to use for monitoring and how they affect the EQing process. Another thing that has helped speed things up is EQing much less, and sometimes almost not at all. I'm pretty good at balancing instrument levels, but terrible at EQing, so when I can avoid it altogether, I'm more efficient.
