Hello
I was wondering whether anyone here might know how to get VST softsynths (instruments) to work inside MTS (in an "effect return") as VST effects. Whenever I have tried, MTS allowed me to load up the softsynth as a VST effect and did not report any errors, but nevertheless I could not get it to make a sound (either through a MIDI keyboard or the computer keyboard or a mouse).
Also, does anyone know a good VST effect that opens up inside MTS with lots of options and controls which lets you shape feedback like an analog synthesiser?
Thanks
Setting up MTS
Hi Pacifist!
VSTi's will not work in an effects slot and conversely, VST's will not work in a ports slot.
VSTi's (softsynths, etc.) need a midi signal to generate sound. VST's need an audio signal to process sound. They are two different animals.
To use VSTi's in MTS, you need to create a new midi track(name it test.mid or the like) and right click on the port slot. You then have the option of choosing among various midi generating sources - VSTi and DXi included.
Here's a free analog synth for starters... http://www.kvraudio.com/get/36.html
