Drum Software

Post by Chris725 »

Hi all, I'm looking at Superior Drummer 2.0.

Has anyone used it with MTS? Did you have an outboard pad or use a midi keyboard to operate?

Any success with another Drumming program?

Appreciate any assistance. Big Thanks!

Hi Chris725,

I've used Superior Drummer in the past with both midi pads and midi keyboards in MTS and it worked fine. Since I haven't used it in a while, I've forgotten a lot of the details. Something I'll be correcting soon. One cool thing with MTS is the sound-on-sound recording feature - it works with midi too - to quickly build up a rough drum track a kit piece at-a-time if you want. Kick, Snare, Hats, etc. You can then edit the track in a grid a hit at-a-time.

Superior Drummer is a deep program and one good way to get off to a good start is to pick up a Producers Preset Pack that gels with the music you're doing. You'll get to see and hear how the pros use all the elements to get some really nice kit sounds.

If you just need a simple drum program that sounds pretty good, check out MT Power Drum Kit 2 http://www.powerdrumkit.com/
It's free and may be all you need.

Good luck!
