Zoom All the way out?

Agreed, Saz. I've thought about doing just that. Seems i do my best work when i'm parternering with someone else, and having someone rely on me to get something done works pretty well in keeping me motivated.

Now that i have a steady DAW again, the time may be right.

Transcription doesn't necessarily have to mean writing down notes on the staff at all.

It could easily also just mean "copping" what you hear on the recording.


Matter of fact, I usually have to do it in that order anyway, learn how to play the part first, then if necessary put it in writing afterwards.

You can skip the notation part altogether. Joey DeFransesco does.

Ahhhhh.. Ok. That, i do. I often sit and figure out chords to a song that's been running thru my head. It's fun and a nice distraction from the stresses of work. Guess i just need to do it more often.
