VSTi plugins list opening too long

I have about 50 VSTi plugins, and when I first open MTS and click on VSTi plugins to choose one, I have to wait about 2 mins to just open the list. Afterwards it opens ok.
What is the problem?

It's probably scanning gigabytes of samples that come with some of the plugins.
The "Customizing the VST folder" section at
https://www.multitrackstudio.com/vstplug.php shows how to exclude folders containing many files which aren't plugins.
