Spambots.
If you don't post your email addy, they likely can't get it.
If you do, you know the drill, break up anything with an 'at' sign in it and a url after it.
badmusician-at-poorserviceisp.com can work.
or the old,
badmusiciannospam@poorserviceisp.com is fun because the robot is likely to pick it up and attempt to send an email which will kick back.
But I don't think they are able to get at any email addies stored elsewhere on this site.
Turing identifiers are becoming more and more popular on forums because of this, though. Cost money. Bad for businesses unless and until things get completely out of hand.
