Can't run a Cubasis plugin within MTS!

It says; Sorry, e.g double delay requires Cubase 5.0!
can you force the Cubase plugin to work with MTS or are the plugins written in that manner, to not work outside Cubase?
(FYI I have Cubasis vst 4 but never use it..)
