I came across this article recently http://www.alexandermagazine.com/dsp/dsp060601.asp which describes how to make a de-esser, and also how to reduce popping by using a "dynamic processor" and side chaining. It's about halfway down the article.
My question is:
How do I get the signal from the input, via an EQ, and back to the "dynamics processor" (I assume they mean a compressor) in MTS? Does it go through an effect return or can I just insert an eq into the compressor and set a peak at 7kHz ? There is a dynamics plug in MTS, could this be used instead of the compressor?
Any ideas?
A sketch is worth a thousand words
side chaining anybody?
thanks for pointing me in the right direction robo I hadn't realised that these pages exist, and look what I found
